Q: Is it acceptable, if not working with parasite or infectious materials, to put media waste while changing media for cell culture in a BDD conical instead of aspirating it?

A: Yes, as long as the conical vial or other receptacle is pre-filled with 10% total volume of BDD before starting, and that the vessel is discarded afterwards if not autoclavable. [PHD]
